To open a BO (Beneficiary Owner) Account with a brokerage house, an investor generally needs a bank account, National ID card, photograph, and nominee information. In the event of the account holder's death, the nominated person will be recognized as the rightful owner of the BO account.

A single bank account can be used to open:

• One Individual BO Account
• One Joint BO Account

An investor may also open BO accounts with multiple brokerage houses using the same bank account. This means that even if you already have a BO account with one brokerage house, you can open another BO account in your own name with a different brokerage house. However, for IPO applications, the investor must choose only one brokerage house.

In addition, investors can transfer their existing portfolio holdings (shares/equities) from one brokerage house to another through a Link Account facility. For example, you can transfer your portfolio to Midway Securities Limited without selling your shares.

Through a Link BO Account, investors can easily transfer shares from any stock exchange account, including the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE). This service allows you to move your portfolio to a new brokerage house while maintaining ownership of your investments.

Documents Required for a Link Account

To open a Link Account, the following documents are required:

• Account holder's signature
• Passport-size photographs of the account holder
• National ID card of the account holder
• Nominee's photograph
• Nominee's National ID card
• A portfolio statement from the existing brokerage house

With these documents, investors can conveniently transfer their portfolio and continue trading through their preferred brokerage house.
